NHL: Detroit Vs. Columbus

Yes, I’m asking strangers for betting advise

Detroit, you SCUMBAG!

Pittsburgh for the cup GUUUUUUARANTEED!!!!

Detroit Red Wings

lol do you know hockey? DETROIT no doubt

F*CK EVERYBODY HERE! Just because a team is have a $hitty season such as the Jackets doesn’t mean they are as bad as the standings say they are. the Blue Jackets actually have pretty good players and if they pick to show up and play they could beat the wings, have you guys forgot how competitive and close the games between these teams have always been, despite the fact the teams are at different ends of the standings? Also do you remember all those hat-tricks and Goals Rick Nash has against Detroit? I say Blue Jackets win this one 3-1 and they win on Wednesday against Detriot again 4-2. @Vincent, they won 3of 4 against the Jackets this season, not 3 of 3 you retard. Also, f*ck yeah, GO JACKETS! a lot of Jackets fans in the hockey section now, it’s great to see, where have you f*ckers been?

Detroid obviously, because detroid won 3 of their 3 games over coloumbus this season.
and because coloumbus is last place over the nhl.

Lets Go Jackets!!!!

Columbus

I’m hoping Detroit wins, and I think they will, but Columbus has been playing really well the last couple of weeks and could pull one off tonight.

Soo..that 3-1 columbus prediction…;D

Red Wings Blue Jackets Betting - Detroit Tries To Improve Playoff Positioning Late In The Season

The Detroit Red Wings have been ravaged by injuries in recent weeks. They’re trying to hold on near the end of the regular season, and they’ll try to pick up two points this Wednesday night.

Detroit Red Wings @ Columbus Blue Jackets – Wednesday, March 28
Sports betting line: N/A

Why Detroit Will Win

When you place your best best sportsbook on a regular-season NHL game, you will sometimes face a very complicated set of interlocking factors, and there are other times when you will encounter a relatively simple scenario. In this game between Detroit and Columbus, your selection can go in one of two different directions. The best reason to pick Detroit doesn’t pertain to the Red Wings themselves; it relates to the state of the Columbus Blue Jackets, the most woebegone franchise in the National Hockey League. Columbus has only 55 points, buried at the bottom of the NHL well behind the next two teams who are struggling along with 71 points, Montreal and Edmonton. Columbus has only 24 wins, worst in the league behind Montreal’s total of 29.

There just isn’t a lot of heft on this roster, no depth of quality or breadth of skill to recommend it in most betting plays. Columbus might very well be intent on spoiling Detroit’s season and throwing a few obstacles in the way of the Red Wings’ push to the playoffs, but without a copious amount of talent or an abundance of resources, it just seems foolish to place any trust in the Blue Jackets. This is Detroit’s game to lose, especially since the Wings – currently sitting in fifth place in the Western Conference standings – really want to get fourth place and overcome the Nashville Predators for home-ice advantage in the opening round of the playoffs.

Detroit has lost only seven games at home all season, and only five times in regulation. The Red Wings want to play at home in round one, and that’s a big incentive for them in this contest.

Why Columbus Will Win

While it’s true that in many cases, you should always be ready to make the kind of pick that plays against a given online betting NHL trend, you would be quite reasonable and logical to go with the flow of recent events in this case. Columbus has actually won four of its last 10 games – that’s not spectacular by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s better than the Jackets have been throughout much of this soon-to-end NHL campaign. Columbus is encountering other teams who are losing steam or motivation (or both). It’s also facing teams that are afflicted by the injury bug. Detroit is arguably the most injured team in the National Hockey League. The Wings have been clipped by injuries to star defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom and several other dependable performers such as Darren Helm and Johan Franzen plus goaltender Jimmy Howard. This is a patchwork lineup that coach Mike Babcock is using at the moment. Friday, March 30, is the earliest possible date for the return of these players. Detroit is 2-6-2 in its last 10 games, giving Columbus the pathway to yet another unusual occurrence: a victory.

Who Will Win?

Detroit is banged up and Columbus is unskilled. Which team will manage to prevail? Go with the team that’s playing the more desperate brand of hockey this late in the season. That’s Detroit – pick the Red Wings here.

Do NFL fans have a stronger liking for teams not in their teams conference

Example… I’m a Dolphin fan, and I love my Dolphins plus alot of teams in the NFC…
Giants, 49ers, Packers, Lions, Cowboy, etc.

but I can’t stand… Steelers, Patriots, Jets, etc.

Do fans in the NFC feel the same way, and vice versa?

I only root for teams that are fit one of these categories; Are the New England Patriots, are currently playing the: Bills, Colts, Jets, Dolphins and Giants.

No, I only root for one team and that’s the only team I like.

Of course it is. When a team plays your team once every 4 years excluding playoffs it is easier to forget that you will have to choose at some point. For example, I am a Vikings fan, however I actively root for the Broncos as well because they don’t play often enough that I feel I am turning on the Broncos by rooting against them

I guess so..I’m a die hard Cowboys fan but I don’t mind rooting for the Ravens every now and then..

It depends, as a Packer fan my team is obviously in closer competition with other teams inside the NFC. Therefore it’s much easier for me to cheer for an AFC team in playoff contention, because it has less of an impact on my team. However, just as I want my team to be the best in the league I want my division and conference to be the best in the league. So on a general basis I’ll often root for an NFC team over their AFC opponent. The only problem is it’s almost impossible to cheer for a rival, and yet I want the NFC North division to be respected and feared as the best in the NFL. So I sort of want my rival teams to win games and become strong teams I just don’t want to see it happen. It’s a bit of a confliction.

St. Louis Cardinals (MLB) and St. Louis Blues (NHL) ~ comparison consideration

I couldn’t fit the whole question in the line so here it is:

St. Louis Cardinals (MLB) and St. Louis Blues (NHL) ~ how many times has a city won the World Series and then come back and also won the Stanley Cup all within the same year? (This could be vice versa too btw ~ Cup first then World Series next). Anybody know how many times this has happened?

I bet you St. Louis Sports Fans must be beside yourself in this…I’m an Angels Baseball guy and L.A. Kings/Anaheim Ducks fan (originally a Maple Leaf as a kid) and we took Pujols from you good Cards Fans…can’t wait! <<< this is just a side bar note btw.
Kelly ~ LOL! Yeah, I’ll have to root for the Blues if they make it to the Cup Dance. Will see video later when I can and am able to do so. Many thanks! Yeah, you Sox/Bruins Fans are group all to yourselves that is for certain. I think the Sox v Yank’s is a great series and I always root Sox.

AGM ~ thanks but what you stated I knew. "Stan the Man" is still the man for the Cards ~ Hockey is my first and foremost love. Baseball runs a close second for me.

*twirls hair*

St Louis? The place where they clap politely?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zidD932dQ_Y

Give me some good old Boston-New Yawk rivalry for my money :D The last time the Sox won a series, we burned a car!

GO BLUES!!!

St Louis Cardinals have 11 World Series Championships but the St Louis Blues have never been winning a Stanley Cup before. Cardinals founded in 1882 as the St Louis Stockings and Blues was added to the NHL Expansion in 1967(the same year Cardinals beat the Boston Red Sox in the ‘67 World Series).

@Kelly. That video was filmed in Arlington, Texas after we beat the Rangers. That is why there are few people there. We are obviously very loud when at home…St. Louis is baseball crazy (probably more baseball fans per capita than anywhere else in the world..not that anyone would actually be able to calculate that). Clap politely? HELL NO. Anyway, In 1928 the Rangers and Yankees won. It happened again in 1933 and that’s it.

can drinking someone’s urine give you mono

hey every1, last fall i made a bet with a guy that my favorite team wouldn’t lose five games during the current nhl season or i’d drink his urine… well recently that happened and i had to follow through on my word or i’d look like a giant punk so i let him fill up a jar of maple syrup with his urine and drank it no big deal…

well it turns out that he forgot to tell anyone that he had mono when this happened and now i have a wicked sore throat, a really wierd pain in my stomach, and i’ve had a headache for basically the past three days without end so i’m worried that i might’ve gotten the mono too. the only thing is that they say mono is the kissing sickness where i’m from and i never made out with that guy or any other girl becuase i’m a member of a religious and i don’t believe in premarital sex so i’m wondering if the urine could have given me a chance to get mono even though i havent had any1 elses saliva in my mouth during the time period in question.

Hmmmm, im no expert but i reckon you might have mono mate, sore throat is devo a symton and i think lots of bodily fluids will do the trick to give it to you, this is anew way of getting it as far as i know. Nice job genius

Lol u stupid

Just go to the doctor. It does indeed sound like mono (see below). I am trying not to tell you what I think of your bet, your action, your… beliefs…

The incubation period for mononucleosis can be from 10 days to 8 weeks. Some sites say 10-60 days, some say 4-8 weeks, some say 4-14 days. So this may depend on when you drank the urine.

If this person had mononucleosis, you are not likely to get it from his urine. My personal opinion, for what it’s worth, is that something in his urine made you sick. Although people say “urine is sterile”, if someone is sick their body may be excreting various substances in the urine. Your body uses urine as one way to eliminate toxins.

If your symptoms continue, you may want to see a doctor and let him/her know you lost a bet and drank urine. (Next time, you may just want to shave your head or something a little safer.)

yes, you very much likely do have mono because you drank urine from an infected person. now you can remember not to bet to something you’re unsure of

Rangers Maple Leafs Betting - Rangers And Maple Leafs Face Different Goals In Late March

The New York Rangers’ foremost goal is to gain home-ice advantage throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Toronto Maple Leafs are merely trying to save face right now.

New York Rangers @ Toronto Maple Leafs – Saturday, March 24
Sports betting line: N/A

Why New York Will Win

The college basketball betting experts who are getting ready to analyze the Final Four are unable to give their attention to college hockey’s equivalent, the Frozen Four, which takes place at roughly the same point on the sports calendar at the beginning of April. In the world of professional hockey, the object is to try and gain as much leverage as possible before the NHL postseason begins. Unlike college hockey teams, the NHL’s best are able to play in best-of-seven-game series, but in order to win those extended battles, having home ice for a Game 5 and especially a Game 7 is an important poker chip. This is what the New York Rangers are chasing right now. New York holds a slim three-point lead over the Pittsburgh Penguins in the chase for the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Rangers, approaching the final three weeks of the regular season, know that they can’t give games away. They will face a number of tough games on the slate, but this game against Toronto doesn’t rise to the same degree of difficulty. The Maple Leafs are one of the most disorganized, listless organizations in the NHL. Their proud history and heritage have given way to dysfunctionality and an inability to persevere in the final months of a season. The Maple Leafs got embarrassed earlier this week by the Boston Bruins, absorbing an 8-0 loss to the defending Stanley Cup champions. That game underscored the extent to which the Toronto franchise has become an unquestioned disgrace in the hockey community. The Rangers are not likely to lose to a floundering and very powerless opponent.

Why Toronto Will Win

When you place your best best sportsbook on a regular-season NHL game, you should always be ready to make the kind of pick that plays against a given NHL trend. There’s not an abundance of reasons to pick Toronto over the New York Rangers at the Air Canada Centre, but with this game on home ice, the Maple Leafs at least have a better chance of winning than they would if they played at Madison Square Garden in New York. If Toronto wins this game, it will be because the Maple Leafs will be trying to erase the utter humiliation of their eight-goal loss to Boston this past week. Any group of professional athletes, no matter how impotent or incompetent it might be, owns a certain amount of pride. Even after the greatest insult or the most profound professional embarrassment, it will want to restore some semblance of honor to its name. The Maple Leafs will want to play hard and well against the best team in their conference. One inspired performance could lift Toronto to victory.

Who Will Win?

Toronto will play hard in the first period, but can it play well for all three stanzas? That’s not likely. New York has too much at stake to lose to Toronto. The Maple Leafs will fight, but they don’t possess the skill or discipline of the Rangers. Pick New York.

NHL Betting Pick: New York Rangers

Red Wings Rangers Betting –Blueshirts End Slump Against Beaten-Up Red

Sports betting sharps could be getting a preview of the Stanley Cup finals when Detroit heads to New York to take on the Rangers on Wednesday, but the Red Wings have a ton of injuries in their lineup right now, even too many to continue their mastery of the Rangers, who are coming off a massive division win.

What: NHL Betting
When: Wednesday, March 21st, 7:30 PM ET
Where: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY
Pick: New York Rangers

Why Bet On Detroit Red Wings (44-25-4)

The Red Wings are sliding down the ranks after a 5-3 loss at home against Washington, and even though Detroit is battling a number of injuries to important players, that is still no excuse for this recent slump as the Red Wings haven’t won in five games. Kyle Quincey, Todd Bertuzzi and Danny Cleary all found the back of the net for the Red Wings, while Jimmy Howard made just 17 saves as Detroit held a 33-22 edge in shots at Joe Louis Arena, where they had lost just five times this season. The Red Wings were down 3-0 at the end of the first period and their penalty killing was atrocious as the Capitals scored on three of their four chances with the man advantage and Detroit is failing down the ranks at completely the wrong time, at the business end of the season. You have to think that the Red Wings know what they’re doing, which is trying to get everyone back and healthy for the postseason.

Darren Helm (knee) joins Johan Franzen (back), backup goalie Joey MacDonald (back), captain Nicklas Lidstrom (ankle), Jakub Kindl (upper body), Jonathan Ericsson (wrist) and Patrick Eaves (jaw/concussion) on the sidelines, but everyone outside of Helm and Eaves should be back by the end of the month. That should give the Red Wings some reinforcements, but Detroit is slipping outside of the home-ice spots as they’re fifth in the Western Conference right now. That would be a huge blow to their NHL betting chances in the playoffs, given how successful the Red Wings are at “The Joe” this season.

Why Bet On New York Rangers (45-20-7)

The Rangers came out on top in a 4-2 affair with New Jersey that featured three fights in the first three seconds of the game (that’s right, three seconds into the game), snapping a two-game skid and keeping the Rangers in first place in the Eastern Conference. Brandon Dubinsky, Dan Girardi, Mats Zuccarello and Derek Stepan notched singles, while Henrik Lundqvist stopped 20 shots for the Rangers, who outshot Devils 27-22, including 13-6 in the first period as they controlled the opening 20 minutes. Those fights to start the game showed an urgency for these Atlantic Division rivals, and it may have inspired the Rangers to clinch the first playoff spot in the East, but now they have to hold onto the top spot with Pittsburgh and Philadelphia hot on their heels. After a pair of losses at home to the Penguins as well as Colorado, the Rangers needed to come out with a strong performance and the Devils played into their hands as they tried to intimidate New York on their ice; that wasn’t going to happen and the Rangers stepped up to meet the challenge.

Artem Anisemov (shoulder) and Steve Eminger (shoulder) are both out, but they’ve probably been afforded a little more time to recover due to the Rangers clinching a playoff spot, but they can’t rest on their laurels as they have some tough games to close out the season, including road games at Philadelphia and Pittsburgh that could decide the fate of the Atlantic Division. It has been a fantastic season on Broadway as no one expected the Rangers to battle for the division title, much less the conference, but now they have to close the deal.

How It Will Play Out

Look for New York to be the NHL betting favorites at home, but the Red Wings have had their way with the Rangers as of late with nine wins in their last 10 meetings, and half have fallen under the posted total. The Red Wings have also won seven of their last eight at Madison Square Garden, but they may be too banged up to continue that trend.

They aren’t excuses, but facts: Detroit is simply too injured to compete with the top teams in the league right now, although the playoffs are the focus now and they’re trying to get everyone healthy. The Rangers have a pair of hot teams chasing them in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Look for the urgency from the New Jersey game to carry over and wager on the Rangers to end their Detroit jinx in your online betting picks.

Red Wings Rangers Betting Pick: New York Rangers

Betting On Flyers Bruins - Philadelphia And Boston Joust For Playoff Positioning

The upcoming weekend of National Hockey League action features a number of interesting games, but one of the highlights is the matchup between Philadelphia and Boston.

Philadelphia Flyers @ Boston Bruins – Saturday, March 17
Sports betting line: N/A

Why Philadelphia Will Win

The Flyers regularly find their way into the playoff mix, typically playing into the month of May and gaining a spot among the final four teams in the Eastern Conference (the final eight in the National Hockey League). Coach Peter Laviolette has his team playing particularly well at the moment. The Flyers have won seven of their last ten games to work their way into the top six of the East. Because of the NHL’s playoff seeding system, in which division leaders are slotted into higher seeds, the Flyers are actually in the top four in the East in terms of points. They’re climbing the ladder, and moving closer to getting home-ice advantage in a first-round series. They still have a ways to go to catch the New York Rangers for first in the East, but they’re hungering for a better position in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

Momentum and quality are two very good reasons to pick the Flyers in this contest at TD Garden in Boston. Moreover, it needs to be said that the Bruins are 4-6 in their past 10 games. Boston is clearly feeling the pressure associated with being the defending Stanley Cup champion in the final five weeks of the regular season. Teams that might have been working through difficult issues at earlier points in the season are now trying to crank up their intensity level for the playoffs, and the Bruins are therefore catching robust efforts from opponents. Philadelphia is in position to add to Boston’s mounting misery.

Why Boston Will Win

When you place your best best sportsbook on a regular-season NHL game, you should always be ready to make the kind of pick that plays against a given NHL trend. When you assess this game, consider the notion that Boston is ready to rebound. The Bruins have too much pride to give up their Stanley Cup crown without a fight. Moreover, Boston is still in the second spot in the Eastern Conference due to the NHL’s divisional-based playoff seeding arrangement. Coach Claude Julien maintained a steady hold on his team last spring, even when the Bruins’ situation looked bleak.

This was especially the case when Boston fell behind the Montreal Canadiens in the first round, two games to none. Boston is struggling at the moment, but the Bruins should be trusted to break their slide at some point. This team is too good to continue to sink like a rock in the standings. The Bruins will draw a line in the sand and get healthy in this contest on Saturday in New England.

Who Will Win?

Philadelphia’s confidence, or Boston’s resolve in the face of adversity? This is the perfect spot for the Bruins to elevate their game in advance of the playoffs. Boston has stagnated in the standings, so a fresh injection of urgency is likely to help the home team beat back Philadelphia this weekend. Take the Bruins in the online sportsbooks.

NHL Betting Pick: Boston

Avalanche Sabres Betting – Sabres, Avalanche Clash With Crucial Points On The Line In Respective Playoff Races

The Buffalo Sabres have been one of the hottest teams in the Eastern conference over their past 10 games, climbing back in to the playoff race. The Colorado Avalanche have been just as good in order to keep pace with the final postseason position in the Western conference, with only a single point separating eighth through 11th in the standings heading in to this week. Those two teams will meet this Wednesday at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo with crucial points on the line, and while they don’t meet often playing in opposite conferences, their respective playoff races should make this sports betting contest that much more intense.

Colorado Avalanche @ Buffalo Sabres
Wednesday March 14, 2012 – 7:30 PM ET
First Niagara Center, Buffalo, New York
NHL best sportsbook Line: Buffalo Sabres

The Avalanche are stuck in the middle of those four teams trying to clinch that final spot, but have played the most games out of the group that includes the Calgary Flames, Los Angeles Kings, and San Jose Sharks. Meanwhile, the Sabres aren’t in any better position in the East with four points to make up between them and the eighth place Washington Capitals, and if they fall any further behind their late charge could come to an end.

NHL Betting Preview: Colorado Avalanche

Colorado actually has the best record of the four teams fighting for that final spot over its last 10 games, and one of the biggest reasons that it is still even in the race is the team’s play on the road. The Avalanche are five games above .500 on the road this season, and although they simply do need to be better on home ice, they will take points anyway that they can get them. Colorado is likely to stick with Semyon Varlamov down the stretch after rotating between he and JS Giguere throughout the season. Varlamov has been the better goalie overall of late, and is 6-0 in the shootout this year.

NHL Betting Preview: Buffalo Sabres

For as good as the Sabres have been of late, they could now be without one of their top scorers in Thomas Vanek, who is out with an upper-body injury that is likely a concussion he suffered on a hit against the Boston Bruins. With Vanek out, Buffalo will rely even more on leading scorer Jason Pominville for offense, as he leads the team in goals and assists with 25 and 37 respectively. Netminder Ryan Miller has rebounded strong throughout the past month to bring his goals against average down, and he will be among the biggest keys to the Sabres’ hopes down the stretch.

NHL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick

There won’t be much room for either team to pull away in this one, and although the Avalanche have played some excellent hockey on the road, Buffalo has gotten to where it is in the standings with an even better record on home ice, and should be able to get another two points here. The edge goes to Colorado if this game goes to overtime or a shootout and could be worth paying attention to for an in-game sports bet with Varlamov playing so well in the shootout, but the fact that the Sabres are the more desperate team and playing on home ice gives them the edge overall.

NHL Betting Pick: Buffalo Sabres
