The Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday signed forward Jason Williams to a one-year contract, worth $600,000.

Pens’ Orpik has hernia surgery, needs 6-8 weeks to recover

Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik had hernia surgery Wednesday and is expected to be back in time for the start of the 2011-12 regular season.
