Canucks send draft pick Hodgson back to juniors

The Vancouver Canucks sent highly touted first-round draft pick Cody Hodgson back to his junior hockey team on Tuesday.

Modin moved to injured list

The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Fredrik Modin on injured reserve and made several other moves to reduce their roster to 23 players heading into Saturdays opener against Minnesota.

Thrashers sign Maxim Afinogenov, Mark Popovic

Forward Maxim Afinogenov and defenseman Mark Popovic, who played in the preseason with the Atlanta Thrashers on pro tryouts, have signed with the team.

Leafs send 7th overall pick Kadri to juniors

The Toronto Maple Leafs have returned forward Nazem Kadri to the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League.
Kadri was the seventh overall pick in this years NHL draft. He had three goals and two assists in six preseason games.
