Islanders agree to deal with G Martin Biron

The New York Islanders have agreed to terms with goalie Martin Biron on a one-year deal.
Biron was 29-19-5 for the Flyers last season, with a 2.76 goals-against average, and led Philadelphia to the Eastern Conference finals against Pittsburgh.

Hurricanes agree to deal with winger Kostopoulos

The Carolina Hurricanes have agreed to a three-year deal with right wing Tom Kostopoulos (kuh-STAWP-oh-lis).
The deal, announced Tuesday, is worth more than $2.7 million.
The 30-year-old will make $700,000 next season, $950,000 the following year and $1.1 million in the final year of the deal.

Rangers send Korpikoski to Coyotes for Lisin

The New York Rangers have traded Finnish left winger Lauri Korpikoski to the Phoenix Coyotes for Russian right winger Enver Lisin.

Penguins sign Jay McKee to 1-year contract

The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed defenseman Jay McKee to a one-year contract.
The team announced the move Friday. McKee had one goal and seven assists and 44 penalty minutes for the St. Louis Blues in 69 games last season.

Avalanche sign Cumiskey, Mercier to contracts

The Colorado Avalanche have signed defenseman Kyle Cumiskey and forward Justin Mercier to contracts.
The 22-year-old Cumiskey was Colorados ninth selection (seventh round, 222nd overall) in the 2005 NHL draft. He skated in six games with the Avalanche last season before a season-ending shoulder injury Jan. 29.

Blackhawks lock up Calder finalist Versteeg

Saku Koivu leaves Montreal to join Anaheim Ducks

Saku Koivu has left the Montreal Canadiens after 13 seasons to join the Anaheim Ducks.
The two-time All-Star center, who turns 35 in November, signed a one-year deal Wednesday.
