Penguins re-sign veteran Bill Guerin

The Pittsburgh Penguins re-signed forward Bill Guerin for one year on Monday.
The 38-year-old forward who helped the Penguins win the Stanley Cup this month would have become an unrestricted free agent Wednesday.

Sabres extend qualifying offers to 3 players

The Buffalo Sabres retained the rights to three key restricted free agents by extending qualifying offers to forwards Drew Stafford and Clarke MacArthur and defenseman Andrej Sekera.

Holland: Chelios not returning to Wings in 2009-10

Chris Chelios wont be with the Detroit Red Wings next season.
Wings general manager Ken Holland tells The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press he met with the 47-year-old and Chelios wouldnt be offered another contract.

Avs hire Konowalchuk, Deadmarsh as coaches

The Colorado Avalanche have hired former players Steve Konowalchuk and Adam Deadmarsh as coaches.
