Canadiens sign Johansson to one-year deal

The Montreal Canadiens have signed Swedish forward Mikael Johansson to a one-year contract.
The 23-year-old Johansson signed as a free agent, agreeing to terms on a two-way contract with Montreal after spending the past four seasons with Farjestads BK Karlstad of the Swedish Elite League.

Peter Zezel, a center who played 15 NHL seasons after breaking into the league as a teenager with the Philadelphia Flyers, has died. He was 44.

Balsillie sets deadline for ruling on Coyotes

Jim Balsillies bid to purchase the Phoenix Coyotes and move the franchise to southern Ontario will be withdrawn if it isnt approved by the US Bankruptcy Court by the end of June.

Hall of Fame C Clint Smith dies

Hall of Fame player Clint Smith, a two-time winner of the Lady Byng Trophy while with the Chicago Blackhawks and New York Rangers, has died. He was 95.
