Blue Jackets, Indians team up to reach more fans
The Columbus Blue Jackets and Cleveland Indians are teaming up to boost fan interest during the recession.
The two Ohio professional teams on Tuesday unveiled a plan to share advertising and promote special ticket offers.
To kick off the partnership, the Blue Jackets will have an inflatable slap shot cage and special giveaways at the Indians-Mariners game in Cleveland on Sunday.
The Indians already this summer entered a joint arrangement with the Cleveland Browns to sell luxury suite packages. Indians owner Paul Dolan said earlier this month that the club will lose $16 million this season and that the team will need to borrow money over the next few years.
