MONTREAL 4, PHILADELPHIA 3 (OT)

PHILADELPHIA Defenseman Mathieu Schneider scored a power-play goal with 1:39 remaining in overtime to lift the Montreal Canadiens to a 4-3 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.

All-Star Alexei Kovalev had a goal and two assists, Tomas Plekanec scored and assisted on another and Tom Kostopoulos also tallied as Montreal scored three times in a 2:04 span late in the first period to erase a 2-0 deficit.

Jaroslav Halak made 35 saves for the Canadiens, who won their third straight game.

Joffrey Lupul, captain Mike Richards and Simon Gagne tallied for Philadelphia, which lost for just the second time in its last seven contests.

CALGARY 4, MINNESOTA 1

CALGARY, Alberta Mike Cammalleri scored two goals and Miikka Kiprusoff made 15 saves as the Calgary Flames blanked the Minnesota Wild, 4-1.

Defenseman Dion Phaneuf and Jamie Lundmark also tallied for Calgary, which extended its winning streak to four games.

Marc-Andre Bergeron netted the lone goal and All-Star Niklas Backstrom stopped 25 shots for the Wild, who began a six-game road trip by losing for the sixth straight time at Pengrowth Saddledome.

VANCOUVER 2, TAMPA BAY 1

VANCOUVER, British Columbia Steve Bernier snapped a tie at 9:26 of the third period, leading the Vancouver Canucks to a 2-1 triumph over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Alexander Edler also tallied and All-Star Roberto Luongo made 20 saves for Vancouver, which successfully opened a four-game homestand by bouncing back from Tuesdays 3-0 setback to the Montreal Canadiens.

Rookie Steven Stamkos netted the lone goal for the Lightning, who have dropped six of their last seven overall and are 3-9-2 over their last 14 contests.

DETROIT 2, LOS ANGELES 1

DETROIT Chris Osgood made 30 saves and Tomas Kopecky scored a key goal early in the third period as the Detroit Red Wings posted a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

Defenseman Derek Meech also tallied for Detroit, which has won four of its last five.

Alexander Frolov netted a power-play goal and rookie Jonathan Quick stopped 39 shots for the Kings, who lost for the fourth time in five contests.

PITTSBURGH 5, CHICAGO 4 (OT)

CHICAGO All-Star Evgeni Malkin scored on the power play 96 seconds into overtime to lift the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 5-4 triumph over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Jordan Staal and newcomer Chris Kunitz recorded a goal and an assist and Miroslav Satan and Maxime Talbot also tallied for Pittsburgh, which won despite missing captain Sidney Crosby for a second straight game because of a groin injury.

Kunitz saw his first action with Pittsburgh since being acquired - along with fellow left wing Eric Tangradi - from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for defenseman Ryan Whitney on Thursday.

Captian Jonathan Toews recorded his first career hat trick with three power-play tallies and set a career-high with 25 goals on the season for the Blackhawks, who have lost three straight.

Dave Bolland sent the game into overtime with his 14th goal of the season late in the third for Chicago, which came back from a pair of two-goal deficits to salvage a point.
