Thrashers recall C Stuart, RW Motzko

The Atlanta Thrashers added a pair of forwards Friday, recalling center Colin Stuart and right wing Joe Motzko from Chicago of the American Hockey League.

A fifth-round pick in 2001, Stuart appeared in one game with Atlanta earlier this season, posting a plus-1 rating in a 4-2 loss to the Boston Bruins on December 13. The 26-year-old native of Rochester, Minnesota also has recorded nine goals and six assists in 42 contests with Chicago.

The 6-2, 205-pound Stuart, who helped the Wolves to the Calder Cup championship last campaign, has registered three goals and two assists in 19 career games with the Thrashers.

Motzko, 28, has notched 24 tallies and 43 points in 47 contests with Chicago this campaign.

A native of Bemidji, Minnesota, the 6-foot, 200-pounder - who was a member of Anaheims Stanley Cup championship team in 2007 - has collected three goals and two assists in 19 career regular-season NHL games with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Washington Capitals. He appeared in three playoff contests for the Ducks during their title run, amassing two penalty minutes.

Atlanta on Friday also assigned right wing Joey Crabb to Chicago.

Selected by the New York Rangers in the seventh round of the 2002 draft, Crabb signed with the Thrashers as a free agent in August 2006. The 25-year-old from Anchorage, Alaska made his NHL debut this season, recording three goals and four assists in 26 games with Atlanta.

The 6-1, 195-pounder also has registered five tallies and 10 points in 16 contests with the Wolves this campaign.
